Healthcare Customer Service Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time front desk position at our healthcare facility.
The schedule includes three shifts per week, with hours from 7 AM to 7 PM on a rotating basis, including weekends and holidays. Monthly schedules will be provided.
Position Summary
The Patient Service Representative serves as the initial point of contact for patients and clinical personnel. Responsibilities include patient check-in, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays and outstanding balances, and performing various front office tasks. This role is essential in ensuring a positive experience for patients at Beaumont Urgent Care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients and provide clear instructions to all visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Evaluate health insurance benefits, confirm insurance eligibility, and communicate relevant payment policies and billing procedures.
• Ensure the reception area is well-maintained and organized.
• Carry out clerical duties while adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
• Assess and collect each patient's financial obligations.
• Support the practice manager and other team members as needed.
• Offer comprehensive assistance to physicians and contribute to office operations.
• Gather and record patient history accurately.
• Comprehend and enforce standard healthcare regulations.
• Safeguard and manage all patient and business documents, ensuring confidentiality.
• Execute office procedures, including general administrative tasks.
• Document all medical interventions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• May be required to travel to nearby locations to provide support to staff.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room environment is preferred.
• Experience in urgent care settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Availability to work from 7 AM to 7 PM for three days a week, including rotating weekends and holidays.
• Familiarity with insurance eligibility and co-pay assessment is essential.
