Job Overview

The Swift Group is seeking a talented and driven professional to assume the position of DevOps Engineer within our innovative development team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in Linux systems management, Big Data technologies, automation, scripting, and AWS. The selected candidate will be crucial in establishing infrastructure, streamlining deployment workflows, and guaranteeing the dependability and scalability of our services. This position offers a hybrid work environment, combining remote work with office collaboration.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Automate deployment workflows to enhance service reliability and scalability.
  • Oversee and maintain cloud resources on AWS.
  • Work alongside development teams to integrate their applications into the existing infrastructure.
  • Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement resolutions as needed.
  • Continuously refine processes and tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, actively seeking innovative improvements for our infrastructure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in DevOps Engineering or Software Development (Java preferred) with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; or a High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficient in configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda) and their application in infrastructure management.
  • Experience in application and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
  • Ability to code in multiple programming languages, including bash, Python, or Go.
  • Understanding of Git and other development tools, including deployment pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for identifying and resolving complex issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AGILE software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+ certification).
  • Must hold a Computing Environment certification (AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
