Operations Manager Job Description

Are you a results-driven professional with a passion for logistics and transportation? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same? We're seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Old Dominion Freight Line, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage supervisors and staff to achieve maximum service center efficiency
  • Develop and implement load plans to optimize origin-to-destination routes
  • Conduct safety and claims meetings with staff to promote a culture of safety and accountability
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Service Center Manager to achieve company goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in operations or logistics management
  • Proven track record of success in improving service center efficiency and reducing claims
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS, and BLU systems
  • Knowledge of general DOT regulations
