Position Overview
The Controls Engineer will report directly to the Director of Maintenance & Engineering. The primary focus will be on analyzing and enhancing plant processes to improve control systems and support production assets. Responsibilities include the design, construction, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of Aseptic Filling and Process Lines, as well as material handling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for various systems including safety controllers, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, and industrial networks.
- Adhere to plant electrical control standards during all work.
- Collaborate on the Change Management Process to enhance company initiatives.
- Plan and oversee upgrades and maintenance of Aseptic Filling and Process Lines.
- Conduct training sessions on the operation and maintenance of Aseptic systems.
- Participate in after-hours support for engineering as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in technical or operational roles.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operations and technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with peers and customers.
- Experience with Technical Service Providers and OEMs.
- Self-motivated with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI systems.
- Background in installation and troubleshooting of processing and packaging equipment.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Expertise with Tetra Pak and/or Stork Aseptic filling equipment.
- Knowledge of food processing and packaging systems.
- Experience in Aseptic Processing and Packaging Systems.
- Familiarity with Beckhoff Automation PLC and HMI systems.
- Knowledge of robotics and motion control systems.
- Experience with vision inspection systems.
- Understanding of relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations.
