Surgical Technologist for Travel Assignments

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at Virginia Mason Medical Center. This role involves providing essential support in the operating room while traveling to various locations.
Certification Requirements- Current BLS certification
- CST national certification is not mandatory
- Must be registered with the state of Washington
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program
- Possession of a valid Washington State license at the time of application
- Specialty: Operating Room Technician
- Number of Operating Suites: 22, with potential expansion to 26 across three floors
- Average Daily Cases: 50-65
- Common Procedures: GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedic (total hips/knees), Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General Surgery (including Breast, HPB, Bariatric), Sports Medicine, and Kidney Transplants
- Minimum of one year of experience in surgical scrubbing
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Experience with ENT procedures is essential
- Proficiency with the Davinci XI surgical system is required
- Shifts consist of four 10-hour days, with variable scheduling from Monday to Friday
- Start times may include 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM
- Consistent start times will be maintained throughout the week
- Later start times on Tuesdays and Fridays for in-service training and team meetings
- One on-call duty per four-week schedule, either weeknight or weekend
- Weekday on-call begins at the end of the shift until 7:00 AM the following morning
- Weekend on-call is a 24-hour commitment, scheduled by management
- Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes, with a call room available
- Support from Charge Nurse and House Supervisor
- No weekend or holiday on-call obligations
- No floating between units required
- Uniform: Teal scrubs provided
- Orientation includes HR and OR leadership, along with a two-day scavenger hunt with a surgical tech
- Our physicians and team members are highly supportive and eager to share their knowledge
- Traveling staff often choose to extend their assignments due to positive experiences
