We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Science Laboratory Manager to join our team at Alabama State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our forensic science laboratory, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Lab Operations Management: Oversee the preparation of instructional laboratories, coordinate daily activities, and ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained.
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of supplies and equipment, including chemicals, gases, and other materials.
- Supply Chain Management: Order supplies, manage invoices and receipts, and maintain good relationships with vendors.
- Waste Management: Oversee the storage and removal of hazardous waste.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain safety records, material safety data records, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Training and Support: Provide training to research students and teaching assistants in laboratory techniques and provide support to faculty and students in the department.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Forensic Science, and at least 2 years of experience as a Laboratory Manager at the college/university level. A Master's degree in the Sciences is also acceptable.
