Job Summary

The Laboratory Assistant II will perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor I and Medical Technologists II. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Identify patient specimens and process them for testing.
  • Collect and report patient data related to phlebotomy and communicate effectively with nursing staff.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
  • Assist with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience as a Lab Assistant I and 1 year at Jackson Hospital.
  • Phlebotomy Certification.
Working Conditions

The Laboratory Assistant II will work in a laboratory setting and be required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods. Manual dexterity and good eye/hand coordination are necessary for this role.
