Project Engineer Role at Helix Electric

Helix Electric is a leading electrical contracting company with a strong commitment to empowering people and powering projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team and assist our Project Managers on various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Project Managers in planning, executing, and finalizing projects within the scheduled timeframe and budget.
  • Act as a liaison between the field and office teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement project management techniques, schedules, and goals to meet customer expectations.
  • Evaluate and improve systems and processes to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Manage and mentor colleagues, ensuring they meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Interact with customers to validate expectations and ensure project completion meets their needs.
  • Provide close support and oversight to third-party construction firms and subcontractors.
  • Manage project review processes, including financial forecasting and quality control.
  • Proactively communicate challenges, risks, and successes to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of project engineer experience in heavy commercial/private electrical construction.
  • Strong understanding of engineering in electric power and field experience coordinating with construction management.
  • Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects.
  • Exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degrees are strongly preferred.
What We Offer:

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $85,000 and $95,000, depending on various factors such as location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The role may also be eligible for a vehicle allowance plan, bonus, and benefits.
