Job Overview:

The Child Visitation Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating and overseeing visitations between custodial and non-custodial parents or caregivers and their children. This position is essential in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for family interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise visitation sessions between non-custodial parents/caregivers and their children.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate family dynamics.
  • Evaluate parenting skills, emotional stability, and parent-child interactions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation using DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan) format.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the court, including potential court testimonies.
  • Act as a mediator and communication link between custodial and non-custodial caregivers, the judicial system, and other service organizations.
  • Perform regular data entry and maintain accurate records in agency databases.
  • Represent the organization in community outreach and interagency collaborations.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities as they arise.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to maintain neutrality in high-conflict situations.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding their unique challenges.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree, with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background in counseling or mental health is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong data entry skills are required.

Work Environment:

This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including evening hours. The Child Visitation Coordinator may encounter challenging situations involving clients under stress or influence, necessitating a calm and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
