Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for creating, sustaining, and evolving a safety culture that aligns with company policies and goals.
  • Provide strategic direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure alignment with company policies and goals that drive to a zero-incident culture.
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and deliver weekly safety training to educate manufacturing workers and management on safety best practices.
  • Establish and maintain safety records and documentation, including accident reports, safety training records, and safety inspection reports.
  • Analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop strategies to address safety issues.
  • Monitor safety performance and provide feedback to management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, safety professionals, and industry associations to stay current on safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Respond to safety incidents and emergencies and investigate incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training for new employees during orientation to include, review of the safety handbook, review of the job hazard forms, hands-on tool training, and plant tours.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in safety management, in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • A proven track record of success in developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Certifications: CSP, OSHA 30, Forklift trainer, Aerial/Scissor lift trainer, CPR & First Aid.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and codes relevant to industrial manufacturing is required. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures is a must.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team of safety members is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to identify and assess safety risks and to develop effective safety strategies.
  • A keen eye for detail is necessary to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • The ability to work in the plant and be physically capable of conducting safety inspections and audits in an industrial manufacturing environment is required.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials is desirable.
