Lead Pre-K Educator and Program Director

Job Summary:
Armed Services YMCA of The U S A is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Pre-K Educator and Program Director to join our team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday, 7:45AM-3:45PM w/ 45 minute lunch break. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Five Star Kids Pre-K Program, ensuring it meets or exceeds all state operations, safety, and licensing standards and regulations for child day centers.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement curriculum-based and developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote STEAM, literacy, health, and safety, environmental awareness, character development, and the YMCA character values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, planning and assigning purposeful tasks to support the delivery of high-quality educational programs.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures as set forth in the parent/guardian and employee handbooks.
- Plan and attend school and community-sponsored events to promote programs and the Armed Services YMCA of The U S A organization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Analyze student outcomes and adjust instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Collaborate with the Early Learning Director and Pre-K Manager to ensure program success and alignment with organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, school-age care, child development, social work, nursing, sociology, psychology, human development, and family studies, or a related field. OR an associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field with one year of experience as a teacher. OR a national competency-based credential, such as the Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) or Child Development Associate (CDA), and two years of experience as a teacher.
- Leadership experience and documented leadership training.
- Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
- CPR, First Aid, Daily Health Observations, and MAT training required.
- Valid driver's license and basic understanding of technology, including Microsoft Office.
- Competitive salary range: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience.
