Position Profile

Weaver is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to enhance our expanding Commercial team. The Audit Senior will undertake in-charge responsibilities on larger and more intricate engagements. They will exhibit a comprehensive understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC frameworks, alongside a grasp of generally accepted auditing standards and prevalent audit procedures for complex financial statement areas. The Audit Senior will cultivate and strengthen client relationships through effective communication and project management skills. They will execute engagement planning activities, which encompass gathering information for time budgets, coordinating all planning tasks on engagements under the supervision and guidance of more experienced staff, and designing a risk-based audit strategy.

To excel in this role, the following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 2-4+ years of experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both
  • Experience in the commercial sector
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and GAAS
Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:
  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Capability to mentor and assist in the development of less experienced staff
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Strong project management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
