Position Overview

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting Project Managers to ensure that the work executed aligns with project specifications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures adherence to project plans and specifications by thoroughly reviewing assigned documents and shop drawings.
  • Evaluates plans for value engineering and feasibility, ensuring the use of appropriate materials and addressing any discrepancies with the architect.
  • Proposes labor-saving and cost-effective strategies to optimize project expenditures.
  • Participates in project team meetings, documenting discussions and distributing minutes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Generates weekly progress reports for assigned projects and ensures timely distribution of essential construction information.
  • Updates project timelines as necessary to reflect current progress.
  • Assists in the bidding process and the formulation of work scopes for subcontractors.
  • Collaborates with the superintendent to establish project schedules, including critical milestones and deadlines for shop drawings.
  • Keeps detailed logs of shop drawings, clarification requests, change orders, and proposals.
  • Provides guidance on concrete pouring procedures and inspects structural reinforcements.
  • Coordinates testing to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Reviews field operations and final installations to verify adherence to project standards.
  • Conducts work sampling and analyzes methods to enhance production efficiency.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and reports any unsafe practices to management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adjust plans and approaches to achieve objectives.
  • Team Player: Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to meet shared goals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Desire and capability to learn new job-related information swiftly.
  • Understanding of OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Integrity: Upholds ethical standards and organizational policies in all job-related activities.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of addressing practical challenges and interpreting complex instructions.
  • One year of relevant field experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software is advantageous.
  • Basic proficiency in Spanish commands related to concrete construction is preferred.
