  • Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring proper portion control and presentation of all dishes.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory and supplies, monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed to ensure kitchen efficiency.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, conducting regular checks to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Quality Control: Inspect dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing any issues related to food quality promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items and specials, collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a kitchen environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in a diner or similar establishment is preferred.
  • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of classic diner cuisine, excellent leadership and organizational abilities, capable of multitasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Food safety certification or other relevant culinary certifications are a plus.
