Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Radiologic Technologist II is tasked with operating radiology equipment to produce imaging films as directed by physicians. This role involves performing radiographic and cardiopulmonary procedures for diagnostic and treatment purposes. The technologist will also conduct specialized procedures for patient diagnosis and treatment planning, including venography, myelography, and gastrointestinal examinations.

  • Conduct and execute all diagnostic radiographic procedures for physician interpretation.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment to capture diagnostic images according to established protocols. Assess radiology films and/or digital exams for quality attributes such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Capture x-rays of various body parts to aid in diagnosing diseases or injuries.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and ensure patient comfort and care.
  • Document test results and monitor patient data accurately.
  • Maintain a radiographic log in compliance with policy, ensuring proper documentation of exams and patient details.
  • Keep separate records of all diagnostic x-rays.
  • Ensure accurate departmental records to meet state and federal regulations.
  • Manage the shipping and receiving log of radiographs and other diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the radiology department.
  • Calibrate and uphold x-ray equipment functionality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Licensure:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited radiologic technology program (required)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R); must maintain current registration (required)
  • Certification by the State of Texas – MRT; must maintain current certification (required)
  • BLS certification (required)

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in Radiologic Technology (required)
