Role Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the medical office. You will collaborate with nurse practitioners and patients through various tasks associated with patient care management, organization, and effective communication. The goal is to perform all duties accurately, maintaining high quality and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient interviews and document essential medical histories.
  • Organize and manage appointment schedules.
  • Update and maintain medical records and insurance documentation.
  • Coordinate laboratory services as needed.
  • Assist in preparing patient charts and follow up with patients.
  • Support medical examinations as required.
  • Generate and distribute correspondence, including memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
  • Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms and medical instruments.
  • Safeguard patient rights by ensuring confidentiality of personal, medical, and financial information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (Required).
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Required).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate stressful situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light physical effort; routine handling of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and keyboarding.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

  • Constant use of fingers for tasks requiring dexterity.
  • Regular communication to receive detailed information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret and comply with policies and procedures in line with company practices.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate complex issues and recommendations effectively.
  • Consistent attendance is required.
  • Basic math and reading skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment (e.g., photocopiers, fax machines, computers).
