Job Title: Policy Project Manager

Join the American Academy of Actuaries as a Policy Project Manager and contribute to the development of public policy initiatives that impact the actuarial profession. As a key member of the Public Policy team, you will work closely with senior leadership to identify and prioritize policy issues, develop and implement project plans, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Academy's public policy mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans to advance the Academy's public policy initiatives, including identifying and prioritizing policy issues, developing work products, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize policy issues, develop and implement project plans, and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Work closely with the Public Policy team to develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including members, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and other external stakeholders, to advance the Academy's public policy mission.
  • Provide support to the Public Policy team on various projects and initiatives, including research, analysis, and writing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of professional experience in a related field, such as public policy, project management, or communications.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of public policy issues and the actuarial profession, with a strong understanding of the Academy's public policy mission and goals.
