Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Informatics Technician to join our team at Medstar. As a key member of our pharmaceutical team, you will play a critical role in improving patient care and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform technical duties related to drug distribution and dispensing, ensuring seamless integration with our pharmacy systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with our pharmacy software, including MEDITECH, PYXIS, and SMS Interface.
  • Oversee the addition of new drugs to our charge master, ensuring accurate pricing and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve billing issues, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement.
  • Perform periodic backups of our pharmacy systems, ensuring data security and integrity.
  • Collaborate with our pharmacy team to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing our overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • 3-4 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with IV admixture experience required.
  • DC Pharmacy Licenses and Certifications required; PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPHT) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to utilize computer equipment and medication carts.
  • Basic mathematical skills and working knowledge of the metric system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access preferred; familiarity with PYXIS, MEDITECH, and SMS preferred.
