Job Summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Maternal-Fetal Diagnostic Center of Atlanta. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients and work closely with other specialists to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and ensure their comfort and cooperation throughout the process.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Code services performed and submit billing work sheets daily, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action to ensure optimal performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and archives/records scans.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, adhering to a non-directive and non-judgmental approach.
  • Comply with safety and security training, OSHA standards, and regulations, as well as complete required Compliance Training.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities to enhance professional growth and development.
Qualifications
  • Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician in an OB/GYN and/or MFM setting, with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment and able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent, with ARDMS OB/GYN certification and RDMS OB/GYN registry preferred.
  • Fetal echo certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire, with experience preferred or provided.
