Per Diem Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations for patients, including fetal echocardiograms and other specialized procedures.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, explaining procedures and providing education on medical ultrasound.
- Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Code and submit billing work sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
- Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities to stay current with industry developments.
- Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
- ARDMS OB/GYN certified or registry eligible.
- Fetal echo certification or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
