Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. as a PRN Sonographer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular exams.
  • Prepare patients for exams, position them correctly, and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, adjust settings, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient exams, including images and reports.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ultrasound technology and techniques, and participate in ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography Program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Sonography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound sonography.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in a specialty area of sonography, such as abdominal or vascular sonography.
  • Experience with ultrasound equipment and software, including image analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and technical issues.
