Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team at The University of Iowa Health Care department of Family Medicine. This is a full-time position that requires the individual to perform direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services, under the supervision of a physician.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $94,000 (SEIU Pay Grade 94). Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health, dental, life, and disability insurance options, as well as generous employer contributions into retirement plans.

Job Description
  • Provide care responsibilities as directed by a supervising physician.
  • Obtain medical history and perform physical examinations.
  • Assess, assist, diagnose, and treat medical or surgical problems and record findings.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, removal of foreign bodies, ear and eye irrigation, and other clinical procedures.
  • Perform office surgical procedures including skin biopsy, mole or wart removal, toenail removal, arthrocentesis, incision and drainage of abscesses.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
  • Have previous experience in a primary care environment providing care to adults and children.
