Job Summary:

The Behavior Support Technician (BST) plays a vital role in supporting school staff during crisis situations related to student behavior and mental health issues. This position conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and collaborates with staff when developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Additionally, the BST implements Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) strategies as needed for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides one-on-one support to students in crisis situations using Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) strategies
  • Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  • Collaborates with school staff during individual student crisis situations
  • Collects, analyzes, and assesses data related to student behavior
  • Participates with school staff when developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Monitors and provides feedback to staff on implementation of BIPs

Requirements:

A high school diploma is required for this position. The ideal candidate should possess experience in crisis intervention and behavior support.
