Position Summary:The Field Supervisor acts as a senior technical leader within a project team, focusing on jobsite productivity, quality assurance, and maintaining a safe working environment.
This role merges advanced trade skills with project management methodologies to ensure the timely and standard-compliant installation of Structured Cabling Systems, Data Centers, or Specialty projects.
The Field Supervisor will lead onsite team members effectively through projects of varying complexity and scale to achieve project milestones.
This position entails approximately 70% field presence and 30% administrative responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee all installation aspects, including planning, organizing, and directing personnel, resources, and materials.
- Interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets accurately.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting as necessary.
Assess project requirements and validate the Scope of Work (SOW) and project plan, implementing strategies to optimize team performance and ensure compliance with SOW, project, and industry standards.
Collaborate with the Scheduling administrator to maintain a 2-5 week look-ahead schedule for resource, equipment, and material planning.
Provide accurate project status updates to the Scheduling administrator to facilitate timely reporting to leadership and clients.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor to technicians, enhancing their skills and task performance.
Work with the Project Engineer to define compliant equipment and materials for projects.
Monitor, analyze, and resolve recurring issues that hinder performance targets.
Share best practices and lessons learned across sites for inspiration and implementation.
Offer coaching, development, and guidance to team members, encouraging personal growth with emerging technologies.
Lead by example, demonstrating safety and professionalism consistently.
Utilize computer skills proficiently, including Microsoft Office applications.
Manage PTO requests and contribute to employee evaluations and performance feedback.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
Travel Requirements:
The individual in this role should be prepared to travel as necessary for E2 Optics.

Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
OSHA 30 certification is required within the first two weeks of employment.
BICSI Installer 2 Copper and Fiber certifications are preferred.
BICSI Certified Technician certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in Structured Cabling or a related industry/construction field is required.
Experience in large data center infrastructure, including technology, quality, and safety standards, is essential.
A minimum of 3 years of supervisory and/or training experience, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, is necessary.
Position Bonus Attributes:
Obtaining company-approved (manufacturer) certifications is encouraged.
Acquiring BICSI RTPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager) certification is beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
The ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, is essential.
Understanding and effectively explaining all aspects of structured cabling systems, including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing, is required.
Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices is crucial, along with the ability to make informed recommendations.Working knowledge of PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guides and Standards is necessary.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting is important.
Capability to develop and implement standard operating procedures that empower installation teams to deliver value to clients is vital.
Professional demeanor and appearance are expected at all times.
Effective performance management skills are required.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is essential.
A positive attitude and high attention to detail are necessary.
Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate self-motivation and initiative is expected.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The standard work environment for this position includes both an indoor office and construction settings. The ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods is required. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
Regular tasks include sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, stooping, kneeling, bending, rotating, pushing, pulling, and reaching with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis.
Frequent standing and walking are required, along with the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. Climbing ladders up to 20 feet is necessary.Working in tight, confined spaces may be required.
Regular and punctual attendance is essential.
Occasional travel by conventional means, including aircraft and motor vehicles, may be necessary.
