As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a comprehensive calendar of events that align with our mission and enhance community awareness.
Key Responsibilities- Event Planning and Execution: Identify, plan, and execute all annual Arboretum events and experiences that align with our mission and enhance community awareness.
- Fundraising and Rentals: Plan and oversee annual fundraising events and facilities rentals; develop and manage event budgets and serve as the organization's lead for event committees that may include board members, donors, friends, volunteers, and staff members.
- Event Analysis and Reporting: Complete 'return on investment' reports and analysis of events and facilities rental related activities.
- Industry Trends and Best Practices: Sustain an active peer network to keep up with industry trends, best practices, and event management benchmarking.
- Prospect Identification: Identify prospects for funding and rentals.
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree in event management, hospitality, business, communications, or related field; or a combination of education and experience.
- Event Planning Experience: Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Time Management and Organization: Exemplary time management and organizational skills.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
- Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated orientation toward quality customer service.
- Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member, as well as work independently to accomplish goals and benchmarks.
- Availability: Ability to regularly work evening and weekend hours.
- Software and Tools: Previous experience with event floor plan and booking software/tools a plus.
- Design Skills: Experience with Canva also preferred.

The annual compensation range for this position is $44,000-$48,000.
