Barista Cafe Attendant

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Barista Cafe Attendant to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our coffee shop team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing high-quality beverages and food products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food products to meet customer needs and preferences.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Operate the register system, handling cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge in beverage preparation, customer service, and store operations.
- Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting or obtain MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment.
- Starbucks Barista Basics certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Previous barista and/or food service experience in a high-volume setting.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with the ability to work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures. The store environment may be hot, cold, and/or wet.
