Job Title: Veterinarian Medical Supervisor Care

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian Medical Supervisor to join our team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, and other species. You will also supervise and mentor our veterinary technicians to ensure they are providing the best possible care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care to animals, including exams, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
  • Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians to ensure they are providing high-quality care to our patients.
  • Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure the best possible care for our animals.
  • Collaborate with other members of the medical team to ensure seamless care for our patients.
  • Participate in medical rounds and provide input on patient care.
  • Develop and maintain thorough medical records for all patients.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices in animal care.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary program.
  • Current veterinary license in the state of New York.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in a shelter or animal welfare organization.
  • Experience with Fear Free Shelter certification and shelter medicine.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
