Key Responsibilities- Medical Case Management
- Ensure that all medical cases are thoroughly evaluated and treated with the highest level of care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each animal.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure that all animals receive comprehensive care.
- People Management and Patient Flow
- Oversee the daily medical care and case flow of the animals in our care.
- Lead daily rounds and monthly meetings with the veterinary team to ensure that all animals are receiving the best possible care.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all medical staff are following best practices.
- Interdepartmental Communication and Administration
- Collaborate with other departments, including Humane Law Enforcement and Community Engagement, to ensure that all animals are receiving the best possible care.
- Provide medical information and represent the ASPCA to the public and media as needed.
- Assist with special projects and presentations as requested.
- Education and Experience
- Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of experience in a shelter or veterinary setting.
- Fear Free Shelter certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work standing for 8 or more hours and bend, crouch, kneel, and move freely to perform responsibilities.

- Starting salary range: $169,500 - $179,500.
