About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal, Engineer to join our team at Macy's, Inc. in Johns Creek, GA. As a key member of our Portfolio Architecture, Marketing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the software design of multiple components within a system and leading the technical implementation of various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in hands-on system design and development, collaborating with product managers and engineers to prototype innovative technologies like machine learning and test them using production data.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve technical roadblocks and provide mentorship to other engineers, actively participating in code reviews.
  • Effectively communicate and clarify technical and business trade-offs related to system design, ensuring timely and budget-conscious releases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, iterative development, estimations, and design sessions, demonstrating strong expertise in Java, Python, Data Structures, and algorithms.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience contributing to architecture, design patterns, and 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java programming.
  • Strong expertise in software design and implementation, with experience in packaged software design and implementation.
  • Excellent cross-team and cross-functional coordination and collaboration skills, with exceptional communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
