Job Overview

Position: Superintendent for High-End Residential Projects

Deffenbaugh Homes is seeking dedicated individuals with a strong background in construction supervision or management to contribute to our expanding team. As a reputable builder specializing in upscale custom homes and renovations, we are in search of Superintendents who excel in communication and prioritize delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of quality home construction from inception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage the overall oversight of residential projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel, materials, budgets, and timelines.
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction sites.
  • Ensure the proper scheduling, delivery, and utilization of materials, while maintaining high construction quality and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and compliant job sites.
  • Interpret contracts, blueprints, and construction regulations.
  • Track and manage construction expenses to prevent budget overruns.
  • Schedule and oversee subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Finalize homes and address all customer walkthrough items prior to project closure.
  • Utilize computer-based scheduling tools to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with various stakeholders, including management, designers, vendors, and clients, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Proactively address homeowner concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Strong supervisory skills across diverse teams and personalities.
  • Inspire construction partners to achieve high performance standards.
  • Effectively manage time, multitask, and prioritize to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications for job scheduling, budgeting, payroll, and vendor communication.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness and adaptability in fast-paced environments, especially when facing unexpected challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and terminology, with the ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to follow-up.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and reliability.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and lift/move materials as needed.
  • Report directly to the Operations leader and adhere to established schedules.
  • Proficient in accessing and managing information via electronic devices.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with clients, colleagues, and management.
