Job Summary:

Venturi Supply is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading our accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting for general ledger, accruals, and other financial activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing coaching, training, and mentoring to ensure their success.
  • Streamline and improve processes, internal controls, and operational effectiveness within the organization.
  • Evaluate and improve department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in the monthly and annual financial closing processes and support the production of periodic financial reports.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Manage various tax and compliance activities, including sales and property tax audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7 or more years of related experience, including previous management experience in a department of at least 10 individuals.
  • Active CPA license and public accounting experience are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to communicate the vision and hold the team accountable for achieving objectives.
  • Ability to think strategically and troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Exceptional math skills, computer proficiency, and MS Office (advanced Excel skills).
  • Advanced experience with Audits and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
