The Assistant Program Manager will ensure projects meet quality standards, remain within budgetary limits, and adhere to established timelines. This role plays a key part in fostering and maintaining open communication, team cohesion, and collaboration with contractors, vendors, consultants, and campus partners.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of contract documents, project budgets, and project schedules. Proficiency in project management software, such as Revit or BIM CADD, is also essential.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the evaluation and selection process of designers, contractors, and vendors
- Manage bidding and proposal documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements and objectives
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project details, timelines, and deliverables
- Identify resource requirements and potential gaps, monitoring resource allocation and utilization throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide project leadership with comprehensive risk management evaluations and anticipate potential scheduling issues
- Review project implementation processes and gather data on project execution, monitoring adherence to project plans and specifications
- Maintain accurate project documents and reports, tracking and reporting project progress against established metrics and goals
- 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- Three to four years of experience with a general contractor, architectural project management firm, engineering project management firm, or with a higher education facilities project management unit
- Graduate Degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- Four or more years of project management experience
- Experience with higher education construction projects
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and building infrastructure
- Knowledge of, and proficiency in the use of, CADD software, word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling, Adobe Acrobat, database, and other software applications
