Ambulatory Care Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Care Operations Manager to join our team at Intermountain Health. In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and accountability for ambulatory care operations, including excellence in customer service, human resources, information systems, patient-focused clinical care, quality assurance, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations in the clinic, optimizing clinic workflows and acting as a resource in daily operations and activities of the department.
- Collaborate with hospital care sites and physician leadership to promote effective working relationships within the service line to facilitate achieving goals and objectives.
- Work directly with patients to address patient questions and concerns regarding care and billing, evaluating various resolutions and ensuring patients receive satisfactory resolution.
- Create and oversee daily work schedules, including management of daily staffing and float coverage, and oversee active schedule management to balance patient access, schedule, utilization, and continuity during hours of clinic operation.
- Manage prior authorization and referral processes.
- Lead clinic team in problem-solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care, and service, promoting effective working relationships and working effectively as part of the clinic team to facilitate meeting its goals and objectives.
- Assist in development of capital planning and operating budgets.
- Manage clinic teams on quality initiatives and managing quality metrics, collaborating with the leadership team and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Drive and support associate engagement and patient experience outcomes.
- Manage Human Resource management functions, including interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development, maintaining Kronos records for employees.
- Direct, oversee, and coordinate training of new employees, building strong partnership with local clinic physician leadership.
- Take an active role in professional development of associates, developing leaders as appropriate.
- Create a culture of patient safety, including documentation and reporting of any PEARL event, maintaining audits for medication safety, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, and licensure, compliance, and accreditation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Partner with physicians around panel management, maintaining records regarding patient linking, population health, and care gap closure.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory-level experience is required; Bachelors degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.
- Bachelors degree in healthcare or related field is preferred.
- Healthcare and/or Specialty Clinic experience is preferred.
