Job Summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Practice Manager to lead our ambulatory care operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and accountability for our clinic operations, including excellence in customer service, human resources, information systems, patient-focused clinical care, quality assurance, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the clinic, optimizing workflows and acting as a resource in daily operations and activities.
  2. Collaborate with Hospital Care Sites and Physician Leadership: Work with hospital care sites and physician leadership to promote effective working relationships within the service line to facilitate achieving goals and objectives.
  3. Address Patient Questions and Concerns: Work directly with patients to address questions and concerns regarding care and billing, evaluate various resolutions, and ensure patients receive satisfactory resolution.
  4. Create and Oversee Daily Work Schedules: Create and oversee daily work schedules, including management of daily staffing and float coverage, and oversee active schedule management to balance patient access, schedule, utilization, and continuity during hours of clinic operation.
  5. Lead Clinic Team in Problem Solving: Lead the clinic team in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care, and service, and promote effective working relationships and work effectively as part of the clinic team to facilitate meeting its goals and objectives.
  6. Manage Clinic Teams on Quality Initiatives: Manage clinic teams on quality initiatives and managing quality metrics, collaborate with the leadership team and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives, drive and support associate engagement and patient experience outcomes.
  7. Manage Human Resource Management Functions: Manage human resource management functions, including interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development, and maintain Kronos records for employees.
  8. Direct, Oversee, and Coordinate Training of New Employees: Direct, oversee, and coordinate training of new employees, build strong partnership with local clinic physician leadership, and take an active role in professional development of associates, developing leaders as appropriate.
  9. Create a Culture of Patient Safety: Create a culture of patient safety, including documentation and reporting of any PEARL event, maintain audits for medication safety, ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, and licensure, compliance, and accreditation requirements, and ensure compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  10. Partner with Physicians Around Panel Management: Partner with physicians around panel management, maintain records regarding patient linking, population health, and care gap closure, and promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
  11. Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned, promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two Years of Supervisory-Level Experience: Two years of supervisory-level experience is required. Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Related Field: Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field is preferred.
  • Healthcare and/or Specialty Clinic Experience: Healthcare and/or specialty clinic experience is preferred.
