Chief Human Resources Officer

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the President/CEO. This role is responsible for shaping and driving the organization's human capital strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that supports Phoenix House's mission and strategic objectives.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Champion DEI initiatives across the organization, ensuring that policies, practices, and programs are inclusive and equitable.
- Employee Relations and Engagement: Promote a positive and collaborative work environment through effective employee relations strategies.
- Compensation and Benefits: Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent while ensuring internal equity.
- HR Operations and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Organizational Culture and Change Management: Lead efforts to strengthen and evolve the organizational culture in alignment with the organization's mission and values.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies in a nonprofit or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of employment law and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
