Job Summary

As the Chief Information Officer and Technology Strategist, you will play a critical role in shaping the County's technology strategy and ensuring that its IT systems are modern, efficient, and effective. You will lead a team of IT professionals and work closely with other County departments to identify and implement new technologies that will drive business value and improve the quality of life for County residents.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the County's business objectives and priorities.

  • Lead a team of IT professionals and provide guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.

  • Collaborate with other County departments to identify and implement new technologies that will drive business value and improve the quality of life for County residents.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistent with the County's overall strategy and goals.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IT systems and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends and advise the County on how they can be leveraged to drive business value and improve the quality of life for County residents.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master's Degree in business or public administration, computer science, information systems or other closely related field.

  • Ten (10) years of executive level information systems management experience providing a wide variety of technical support to a large County.

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is estimated to be between $126,324 and $187,894, depending on experience and qualifications. Suffolk County offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off.
