Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of the packaging production facility. This position is tasked with ensuring that all manufacturing processes operate efficiently and effectively, adhering to the company's quality benchmarks, safety regulations, and production goals. The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor will guide and develop a team of production personnel, collaborate with various departments, and report directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight:

  • Manage daily production activities to guarantee timely and effective manufacturing of packaging items.
  • Track production timelines, adjust priorities as necessary, and ensure that production objectives are achieved.
  • Establish and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production activities.

Team Development:

  • Supervise, train, and assess production staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety protocols.
  • Encourage a collaborative work atmosphere, foster teamwork, and promptly address any personnel challenges.
  • Conduct regular team briefings to relay production objectives, changes, and updates.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all manufactured products meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Work alongside the Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve any quality-related concerns.
  • Implement ongoing improvement initiatives to boost product quality and production effectiveness.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Conduct routine safety evaluations and inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations concerning manufacturing and packaging.

Equipment Oversight:

  • Monitor the status of production machinery and arrange for regular maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and address technical issues swiftly.
  • Recommend equipment enhancements or replacements to optimize production efficiency.

Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Oversee inventory levels and manage inventory control processes to avoid shortages or excess stock.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain precise production records and generate reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
  • Provide regular updates to the Plant Manager and other senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in packaging.
  • Strong understanding of production management, quality assurance, and safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficient in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
