Military Aircraft Commander

This position is part of the Air National Guard Units and is designated for a Military Aircraft Commander. The role involves piloting a unit-equipped aircraft while also managing various administrative responsibilities associated with the Air Operations program.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Air Commander's representative, overseeing the safe and efficient execution of missions.
- Have the authority to make critical decisions regarding flying activities, including cancellations and diversions.
- Provide expert advice to wing personnel on compliance with Air Force programs related to complaints resolution and safety.
- Design and implement comprehensive training plans to ensure effective aircrew training.
- Conduct thorough planning for wartime and national tasking operations.
- Pilot advanced military aircraft using precision flight techniques in various conditions.
- Ensure thorough preparation for flights, including weather assessments, route planning, and preflight checks.
- Maintain a high level of safety during operations, adhering to established flight procedures and coordinating with ground units.
- Administer unit safety programs in line with Air Force and OSHA directives.
- Conduct inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
This role requires membership in the National Guard and adherence to military standards. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria and maintain the necessary security clearance.
QualificationsApplicants must possess the required pilot certifications and have graduated from accredited military flying training programs. A relevant undergraduate degree is mandatory, along with significant experience in aviation operations.
Experience in managing flight operations, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of aviation principles and have the ability to effectively plan and execute missions.
