Job Description

Byerly Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation Service Technician to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Refuel and defuel all general aviation, charter, cargo, military, and air carrier aircraft.
  • Operate fuel trucks, including driving and using pumping equipment, hose reels, and safety devices.
  • Operate and maintain aviation ground service vehicles and fuel farm in accordance with all safety standards.
  • Operate ground vehicle equipment, including tugs, GPU, belt loaders, air starts, lavatories, tow bars, bag carts, deicing units, forklifts, and others.
  • Apply Type I and Type IV deice and anti-icing fluids in accordance with our current procedures.
  • Perform ground handling for corporate and private aircraft and commercial size carriers, including baggage/cargo handling, lavatory/portable water service, and push back procedures.
  • Perform additional duties such as facility and grounds maintenance, snow shoveling, and some cleaning and supplies storage when necessary.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety and care of assigned equipment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in aircraft fuel/ground handling operations and procedures is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work any shift, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
