About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Georgia's College of Pharmacy as a Laboratory Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily running of the lab, performing experiments, and aiding students during their experiments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily running of the lab, ensuring that all experiments are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Perform experiments and aid students during their experiments, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Organize, maintain, and prepare core laboratory reagents and buffers, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and in good condition.
  • Maintain the experimental mouse colony, ensuring that all animals are healthy and well-cared for.
  • Manage daily stock of delivered products and current supplies, keeping up with inventory and processing orders to purchase supplies as needed.
  • Contribute to the scientific productivity of the laboratory by performing independent directed research that contributes to the goals of the PI.
Requirements
  • Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.
  • Strong cell biology background with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology experience.
  • Experience working with mice.
