Registered Veterinary Technician

The University of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Surgery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting veterinarians with patient care, collecting and submitting laboratory samples, and providing direct perioperative and inpatient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with patient transfers from the emergency service
- Collect and submit laboratory samples
- Provide direct perioperative and inpatient care
- Induce and maintain anesthesia
- Communicate with clients and provide excellent customer service
- Graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technician program
- Passing the VTNE with confirmed RVT license in the state of Georgia or ability to obtain an RVT license in the state of Georgia within 6 months of employment
- Experience properly handling animals
- Ability to deal with stressful situations
- Ability to perform phlebotomy on animals
- Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery
The Veterinary Technician will work in a fast-paced emergency surgery environment, interacting with veterinarians, clients, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively, and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
