Role Summary
The Health Center Ambassador serves as the initial point of contact and embodies a welcoming presence for all patients and their families, delivering a premium customer service experience aligned with the Health Center's mission, vision, and values. This role involves utilizing exceptional customer service skills to warmly greet patients, ascertain their needs, and provide clarity on their requests. The Health Center Ambassador will also conduct scheduled and unscheduled tours, offering language support to provider partners as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates health center operations by welcoming and guiding patients in the lobby area.
- Conducts informative tours of the health center upon request.
- Assists patients with signing up for and navigating the patient portal.
- Delivers quality service by addressing patients' inquiries and coordinating with relevant departments.
- Verifies patient eligibility and responds to related questions.
- Aids patients during the check-in process.
- Supports the management of health center medical records.
- Assists with Health Center Wellness classes as required.
- Reviews appointment details, including date, time, location, and provider information with patients.
- Handles all non-clinical inquiries and directs patients to appropriate locations within the health center or external resources.
- Establishes and nurtures effective working relationships with team members.
- Provides information regarding benefit plans and eligibility to patients, providers, unions, and employers.
- Escalates urgent or sensitive patient issues as per established protocols.
- Contributes to special projects as assigned by the Health Center Manager or Ambassador Lead.
- Adheres to the quality assurance program of the Guest Experience department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical and insurance terminology.
- Understanding of patient rights and age-specific care practices.
- Spanish bilingual proficiency is preferred.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18.46 to $22.61, subject to variation based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, typically scheduled Monday through Saturday.
