Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Pre-K Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools - MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with moderate disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs and abilities of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress.
  • Assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification in Moderate Disabilities (Pre-K-8).
  • Experience working with students with moderate disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
