UPMC Pulmonary Consultants is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative to provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with navigating the healthcare system and provide clear instructions
  • Provide follow-up to unresolved patient questions or needs to ensure continuity of care
  • Perform administrative duties, including scanning medical records and faxing
  • Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check-in at the desk
  • Schedule or connect patients to resources for ancillary services
  • Understand and apply service recovery principles to resolve patient concerns
  • Assist patients with financial responsibility and connect them to advocacy resources as needed
  • Obtain patient or family member signatures for consent to treatment and financial responsibility
  • Verify insurance benefits and promote the MyUPMC patient portal
  • Collect copayments and patient payments at the point of service
  • Provide a warm greeting and register patients in the Biometrics program
  • Confirm and update patient registration information
  • Triage phone calls and schedule follow-up appointments

Requirements:

  • High school graduation or equivalent required
  • Experience with personal computer-based applications and office equipment preferred
  • Two years of experience in a medical, billing, or customer service function preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
