Job Summary

Northern Impact, a national award-winning engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our growing civil engineering group. This position requires collaboration with a diverse team on a wide range of projects, including civil site development, grading design, stormwater management, and sanitary sewer evaluation.

About the Role

  • Actively participate in project planning and design processes, including data gathering, field investigations, and developing design/feasibility studies.
  • Serve as a technical reviewer for all project deliverables and design calculations in the Civil Engineering Group.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff members assigned to construction management activities, including submittal reviews and change orders.
  • Develop and promote mentoring opportunities for other staff members, including cross-training and succession planning.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of overall experience in the engineering field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong technical design skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Illinois.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and provide technical review of work completed by others.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in other states.
  • Additional certifications relevant to your area(s) of expertise and interest.
  • Proficiency with software used in civil engineering design, including Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS.
