Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to partner with our project stakeholders in planning, designing, and permitting various civil engineering and land development projects in the Chicago Metro area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review client-provided project descriptions to assess scope and design
  • Maintain high levels of quality and responsiveness to client requirements
  • Perform project site visits to collect field data for design development
  • Develop civil design packages, including site geometrics, profiles, grading, stormwater management calculations, utility coordination, permitting, and plan preparation
  • Provide engineering support during and post-construction to ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards
  • Assist with proposal preparation, including scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with other company departments and manage project execution, productivity, quality, and progress
  • Monitor and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure projects meet safety standards in accordance with OSHA, state regulations, and industry best practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil infrastructure planning, design, and construction, with at least 2 years of site development design experience
  • Design-build and/or Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain by comity/reciprocity
  • Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or GIS tools proficiency
  • Coordination of conflicting utilities and field engineering design requirements
  • Complex projects in dense urban environments, construction permit development, easements, and ROW coordination
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
