Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to partner with our project stakeholders in planning, designing, and permitting various civil engineering and land development projects in the Chicago Metro area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review client-provided project descriptions to assess scope and design
  • Maintain high levels of quality and responsiveness to client requirements
  • Perform project site visits to collect field data for design development
  • Develop civil design packages, including site geometrics, profiles/grading, stormwater management calculations, utility coordination, permitting, and plan/spec preparation
  • Provide engineering support during and post-construction to ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards
  • Assist with proposal preparation, including scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with other company departments and manage project execution, productivity, quality, and progress
  • Monitor and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure projects meet safety standards in accordance with OSHA, state regulations, and industry best practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil infrastructure planning, design, and construction, with at least 2 years of site development design experience
  • Design-build and/or EPC experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain by comity/reciprocity
  • Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or GIS tools proficiency
  • Coordination of conflicting utilities and field engineering design requirements
  • Complex projects in dense urban environments, construction permit development, easements, and ROW coordination
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
