Job Summary

The Patient Engagement Representative plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient service and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient information. This position requires a high level of empathy, compassion, and effective communication skills to create a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality service to patients, families, and providers in a courteous and professional manner.
  2. Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) to accurately enter patient demographic data and insurance records.
  3. Confer with customers to provide information about services, take or enter appointments and cancellations, and obtain details of complaints.
  4. Investigate and resolve patient issues in a timely and effective manner.
  5. Explain the promissory note to patients and document into the computer.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions or transactions.
  7. Coordinate with the Call Center to schedule appointments and address patient needs.
  8. Conduct household income assessments to calculate sliding fee scale costs for services.
  9. Recommend improvements in service to reduce or prevent future problems.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Completion of a Medical Office Administration program preferred.
  3. 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
  4. Ability to learn using Electronic Health Records and strong computer skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Friendly and compassionate disposition.
  7. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  8. Ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
