Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Engagement Representative to join our team at CareSouth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient service, ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely information, and addressing their concerns and needs in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  2. Manage Patient Interactions: Greet patients, families, and providers in a courteous and professional manner, and effectively communicate with them to provide information about services, take or enter appointments, and obtain details of complaints.
  3. Utilize Electronic Health Records: Accurately and efficiently enter patient demographic data and insurance records into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  4. Investigate and Resolve Patient Issues: Thoroughly investigate and try to resolve patient issues, and escalate them to the appropriate person if necessary.
  5. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and confidential records of patients' interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  6. Coordinate with Call Center: Coordinate with the Call Center regarding the scheduling of appointments and other patient needs.
  7. Conduct Household Income Assessments: Conduct household income assessments to calculate sliding fee scale costs for services.
  8. Recommend Improvements: Recommend improvements in service to reduce or prevent future problems.
  9. Follow Quality Management Plan: Follow and actively participate in CareSouth's Quality Management Plan and adhere to standards of improvement accordingly.
Requirements
  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
  3. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, friendly and compassionate disposition, exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
Work Environment

This role is based in an indoor, environmentally controlled setting with exposure to disease or infections. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and composure in a dynamic setting.
