About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer III - Manufacturing Automation to join our team at Daniel Defense LLC. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects related to manufacturing automation, ensuring the efficient and effective production of our high-quality weapon systems and accessories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Organize and control project elements, including project phase elements, hand-offs to Manufacturing/Operations, and project schedule management.
  • Engineering and Design: Determine project specifications by studying process flow, process requirements, and performance requirements. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Automation and Process Improvement: Evaluate existing processes and workflows for automation needs and requirements. Work alongside Automation Engineers to help with Installation and Sustainment needs of the Automation Systems.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure that work processes are safe and address safety issues and concerns. Participate in the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a team environment, including cross-functional teams, and exert influence without alienating others.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Science/Automation/Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing, preferred but not required – equivalent experience combined with Associates degree as an alternative.
  • Experience: 4-7 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, responsible for sophisticated manufacturing and automation equipment.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, ability to quickly understand scope and constraints of a problem, and develop solutions that meet timing, cost, business requirements, and consumer needs. Moderate understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering concepts.
  • Software and Tools: Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications for data entry and report generation.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the work day. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
